Product CodeThis can be whatever you wish, for example you may choose to use a product code you already have, or you may wish to create a completely new set of product codes.
The product code is displayed to users of your site when viewing products (dependant on Display Settings and Category Template); to enable users to identify a product to you should they need to contact you regarding it.
Product Codes will be placed within the order details when a user purchases an item(s) from your website and also, searches within your site will pick up on the product codes to enable easy location of products. We advise to keep your product codes consistent. Stock ControlThis function enables you to control the amount of each product that can be sold on your site. For example if you entered the amount of stock for your product as 20 and ticked the "Use Stock Control to Limit Availability" box, the stock control feature would prevent more than 20 of those products from being sold.
However if you do not tick the box it will allow unlimited sales and can therefore be used solely as a method of keeping tabs on how much stock you have in.
To activate the Stock Control function check the "Use Stock Control to Limit Availability" check box and input the number of stock following which you wish the system to list your product as "currently out of stock."
Stock NotificationThe system is able to notify you of when your stock levels have reached a specified warning level through the Stock Notification function.
